KPI Monitoring rApp: Unifying RAN Performance and Multi-Vendor O-RU Management
The TOSSI KPI Monitoring rApp is an open-source application for RAN performance intelligence and O-RU management within the O-RAN Non-RT RIC environment, developed using the OTAF rApp SDK. It unifies RAN performance monitoring with multi-vendor O-RU management through standardized O1 performance management and O-RAN M-plane radio management, providing visibility into gNBs, cells, UEs, and connected Radio Units. Key features include KPI collection, historical analysis, alerting, radio discovery, and configuration capabilities, with integration based on 3GPP TS 28.554 and NETCONF. The rApp exposes KPI reports via R1 Data Management Services, enabling consumption by other rApps for potential closed-loop RAN automation and utilizes automatic O-RU discovery via fronthaul MAC addresses. A demonstration showcases the integration of these features across independent OCUDU RAN instances connected to LITEON and Benetel Radio Units.
